The larger diameter over stock and the elimination of the pleated section improve airflow to the turbocharger compressor inlet, reducing restriction and supporting faster boost build. Designed for direct bolt-on fitment with no modifications required.

Why the Factory Hose Is a Restriction

The OEM turbo inlet hose on the FA20DIT WRX uses a pleated accordion section that allows flexibility but creates turbulence and flow restriction in the airstream entering the compressor. The Tomioka hose replaces this with a smooth-bore silicone design in a larger diameter, providing a cleaner, higher-volume airflow path to the turbo. The 5-ply silicone construction resists collapse under the negative pressure generated at the compressor inlet during boost.
